Commander Marcus Klans
For the first seventeen years of his life, Marc was traveling all over the galaxy, learning some of the coolest thing on the way. He was learning to fly the freighter, and was becoming quite proficient in it. His plans were to enter Star Fleet academy, as a flight control officer, and hopefully pilot one of the large Star Fleet ship one day. Although his father would have preferred he not join Star Fleet, he was welcoming to his son's dreams, and felt his freedom was more important than his safety.
So, in 2361, a few months before his enrollment in Star Fleet Academy, a pirate ship attacked the 'Destined Cargo' attempting to hijack it for its cargo. His mother was killed trying to save the helmsmen, when a EPS conduit blew in her face while transporting hm to the ships infirmary. His mother dead, an no one piloting the freighter, Marcus took control. He swerved to bring the ships weapons facing forward, and opened fire, unleashing the small civilian ship's class IV phaser's on the Pirate vessel. The pirate ship had been in the process of preparing to beam a landing party aboard, and suffered sever damage to its warp nacelles, causing a warp core breach. On that day, Marcus had a change of heart. He didn't want to sit, comfortably behind the helm of some exploration ship. Instead, he wished to fly a fighter, and, teach those who tried to harm those unable to defend themselves, that some one was always looking out for others.
Joining the Star Fleet Marines: Aerospace Corps, Marcus came out of Officer Training in 2365, at the rank of lieutenant 2nd class. He began serving on the USS Kitty Hawk in 2366. This would be his home for the next nineteen years.
Aboard the Kitty Hawk, originally him and his Wing mates flew patrols around Federation space, occasionally engaging in Dogfights with pirates. It wasn't until late 2373, that they saw real action.
By this time, Marcus had achieved the rank of lieutenant 1st class,, and was the in command of his Flight, and the Kitty Hawk was on leave. Suddenly, the message came, the Dominion war had begun, and, all ships were required. The Normandy class vessel was the first carrier to respond to an attack on a Federation planet, and the ship suffered heavy losses during the encounter. During this time, due to the Executive Officer of the ship having been killed, Marcus took his roll, but, this did not mean any less mission time. He was out, fighting with all the other pilots, and, by the end of 2374, he had been promoted to Captain and was working as much on the flight deck, as in flight and in the office, having received the position of Squadron Commander.
At the end of the Dominion War, the Kitty Hawk was due to be retired due to extensive damage received in combat situations. But, after a small civil was threatened a Farming system in Federation space, the Kitty Hawk was patched up and reassigned to this system along with two frigates t defend the system from itself. Its Fighter crews were given the option to switch to a star base, or remain on the Kitty Hawk. Marcus chose to remain, and work on this new mission. He felt that it would help to keep the new pilots under close eye from someone who knew the ship better than some of the engineers.
So, during basic routine patrols of the system, Marcus was becoming accustomed to his knew pilots, by flying with them. During the patrol, a group of enemy fighters came around the edge of an asteroid, and opened fire. One shot caught Marcus' Valkyrie class fighter in the rear, and a conduit exploded. He managed to make his way back to the flight deck, and crash land. He was rushed to the infirmary, and treated. However, when the conduit exploded, a large chuck of metal was blown of, embedding itself in his lower back, and, even after it was treated, it left a large scar. To cover the injury, and remind him of his luck to have been with such good pilots at the time, he had a Tattoo placed over it, in dedication to the two who had not made it back to the Kitty Hawk that day.
After the next ten years of gruesome combat situations, over and over again, the Civil war was dispelled and the Kitty Hawk returned to Utopia Planitia to be completely overhauled. The ship was in ruins, and had barely made it to warp six, but, it was home, and, after the last nineteen years on the Normandy class ship, he was sad to see the patchwork and the phaser marks disappear as he headed for his next assignment aboard the USS Journeyman.
Aboard the Sovereign class he served as the Wing commander. During this time, he was separated from his wife, who ended up losing in the two years of separation. This only served to make him stronger, and he continued to perform his duties. He was awarded the rank of Major for his duties on the protection of the Journeyman from an attack by several fighters, and for rescuing the downed Marine unit. His fighters also aided in the bombing of the weapons complex that had devastated large sections of the planet's surface.
Shortly after, they took on new crew and were off again. The ship's Ops officer (a former member of Section 31, a Para-military organization) was seduced off the ship. Marcus, both college and friend to the man followed suit, and found himself in the middle of an old battle. Helping to disarm the strong, telepathic man who attacks his friend, Roland, he pinned the man, while Commodore Fionda Marino stabbed the man. This ended Section 31 for good brought to justice by Star Fleet.
On Earth, the end of Marcus' days with the Journeyman began. He met one of his new pilots, a horribly insubordinate Caitan woman, who pestered and harassed him. The Captain of the vessel, took a liking to the woman, and allowed the actions to go unpunished. As a result, discipline aboard the ship slipped, and Marcus sought a way out. And he found it when the Journeyman was scheduled to be transferred to 125th Lima squadron. He requested transfer, and was granted it.
Assigned to the USS Paladin temporarily, he served his last duty as a wing commander aboard the Sovereign Class. Only participating in a single mission before his receiving of command of the Apocalypse.

Although his features are sharp, and a reflection of his German/Asian heritage, his body elegant and long, and he strongly resembles his mothers' body, his father's hair and eyes made there way into his features as well. One of his most notable features, is the way his eyes have a gold rim around them, giving it the impression that there is something behind his pupils. Their sharpness gives him the appearance that he's always watching the world around him, even when he's focused on something else. Another noted feature is his tattoo on his lower back. He had it done to cover a scar. The image presented is a great sword, with a Federation Starfighter behind it, nose facing up. |

| Personality & Traits | ||
| General Overview | ||
| To be short and to the point, Marcus is hot headed. He has been known to lose his 'cool' when jobs aren't done that are supposed to be. And, on the job, he can be quite strict in times of need. But, this is just on the job. He prefers the laid back life, sitting. listening to others thoughts, answering unasked questions. He actually finds great amusement in the number of people that refer to him as 'ma'am' before getting a good look. Off duty, is usually the best time to catch him if you need to talk about something that's gone wrong. At this point, he's usually relaxed, and cooled off a bit, more willing to help solve the problem, then tear your head off for starting it. Marcus is very keen on putting his subordinates before him. But, he also dislikes when hard working people, on big ships, lose out on the good jobs to people on smaller ships, who could zip through the ranks faster. |

| Strengths & Weaknesses | ||
| Strengths: Quick learner, telepathy/telekinesis, great at multitasking, takes his leadership very seriously, placing others before himself. Weaknesses: Hot headed, rash, likes answering peoples thoughts rather than their words, is very aggressive. |
||
| Ambitions | ||
| At the moment, Marcus is quite content with his life. He has surpassed his original desires, and finds the only goal that still lacks his completion is having a child. | ||
| Hobbies & Interests | ||
| Marcus is very keen on older fighter craft, preferably those of Earth's World War Two era. He enjoys the feel of the controls, saying its less like flying a computer and more like actually flying. He also enjoys relaxing in his room, designing new versions of the old fighters and aircraft, as well as playing with old fashioned weapons, modifying them to. He even has a few projects going off duty, to take some of them off the holodeck, and into combat situations. | ||

History
Born on Earth July second, 2343. His father, a Terrachian male, was the captain of a civilian freighter, having just retired from Star Fleet. His mother, a human, worked as his father's doctor for the crew, and also the cook in the galley. It was a simple life really, flying between star systems, delivering what was needed where. The freighter 'Destined Cargo' was slow by Star Fleet standards, only maxing out at an Emergency Velocity of Warp 6, but, it got them where they needed to go.For the first seventeen years of his life, Marc was traveling all over the galaxy, learning some of the coolest thing on the way.
